David Bailey, 68, of Lithia, Florida, born in Plant City on November 28, 1953, entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2022. He was retired boilermaker for Central Maintenance, a member of Boilermakers Local 433, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking. He is survived by wife of 40 years, Kathy J. Bailey; children, Rene VanValkenburg (Edwin) of Plant City, Linda Kent (Lance) of Lithia, Kristie Gatlin (Chris) of Mulberry, Leanne Spinale (David) of Port Orchard, Washington, and Kimberly Sorgius of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; grandchildren, Codie Kent (Shaye), Austin VanValkenburg (Kenley), Destiny Kent, Ryan VanValkenburg, Chase Spinale, Shelby VanValkenburg, Austin Huddleston, Leah Sorgius, Rachel Sorgius, Nathan Sorgius, and Luke Sorgius; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Rylee, and Violet; and siblings, Randy Bailey (Barbara), Steve Bailey (Lisa), and Denise Maqueira (Artie). He was preceded in death by parents, Hulan and Elizabeth Bailey; brother, Bruce Bailey; and grandson, Aaron Kent. The family will receive friends Monday, March 14 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 South County Road 39, Plant City, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 15 at 11:00 A.M.
