Jay M. Mertz, Sr., of Plant City, Florida, born in Kokomo, Indiana on July 18, 1950, entered into eternal rest on August 15, 2021. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War, and was patriotic. He was a member of the Florida Frontiersmen, and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by children, Jayne Michelle Stefani (Coben) of Plant City, Jamie Susan Rodriguez (Victor) of Lakeland, and Jay M. Mertz, Jr. of Plant City; grandchildren, Jay M. Mertz III, Aysia, Manny, Chalis, Uriah, Xaviar, Simon, Noah, Ruby, Eva, Faith, and Hope; nephews and niece, Mike, Stephen, Shannon, and their families; and cousin, Linda McKasson.
